pull it together for crying out loud.
i’m not what you’d call a put together person.
i don’t have pre-planned outfits. sometimes i wear the same jeans two days in a row. i go to work with my hair wet. i have a handful of ‘beauty products’ but i don’t/don’t know how to use them much. i don’t wash my face as often as I should. my nails are rarely manicured. my skin is dry. i wear hiking boots too much. my lips are chapped a lot.
are you ‘put together’ on an average day? how do you do it? what motivates you? where do you find the energy?
do tell.

funny you should ask, people have accused me of having outfits hung and ready with a zip-loc of accessories. no jog suits here!
ReplyDeleteHey Jamie - wanted to say thanks for all your Raleigh rental suggestions you emailed to me - I know it has been awhile since we last emailed - sorry! I checked out some spots around your neighborhood - so cute - you guys are very lucky! Now if only I can find a Raleigh job. Finally catching up on some blogs and had to comment on this one - I'm SO NOT a put together person. I think some days I try to be, but when it comes down to it...I throw on the clothes I don't have to iron in the morning. Trying to be better about that in the new year!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a wreck usually and an extra wreck right now. I'm pondering a brand new haircut but the one I like suggests blowdrying it for volume. I don't even know where my blowdryer is! I wish I did look more put together. I just don't know that I'm prepared to give up sleep to look like that (if its even remotely possible). Maybe its in their genes.
ReplyDeleteI am rarely put together. Most days I am covered in something that comes from my children. I used to wonder why mothers look so bad. Sometimes, I want to go back to work just so I can get cleaned up.
ReplyDeletemy mom is always put together. i think it has something to do with having money. that is what I tell myself atleast- if i could get my nails done, my hair done, and new clothes/makeup monthly i would be put together too!
ReplyDeleteIt's not having money, though money certainly helps, as it does with so many things.
ReplyDeleteThe secret to being pulled together is making a realistic plan that's based on how you live, not on how a fashion expert tells you to live.
A handful of us did Wardrobe Therapy in the fall and we're going to do another round in the spring to cover summer clothes.
insecurity?
ReplyDeleteno actual skills or talents?
shit tons of money and no real job to do?
i tried dressing up to work but it doesnt work because i use chemicals all day and my clothes get ruined.
however, i dream that if i get a job where i have to work like.. 30 or 40 hours a week instead of 60 or 70.. and i get paid like too much and have a personal assistant. then i can wear some of the clothes i have in a consistent and effective manner.
