architectural studies
i remember when i went to nyc for the first time, my mom took me when i was 15 or 16, and we went to this "history of shoes" exhibit at the met. there were some crazy samples throughout the last couple hundred years of fashion, things that i could imagine no woman being able to walk in. they looked like they were designed by engineers or architects, not by fashion designers (maybe they are one in the same?). i even have the little collectors magnets of some of the best ones, still on my fridge today. anyway, my point is, i never thought i'd see shoes that were so "out there" outside of a museum exhibit, until this season. something crazy is happening, heels made of glass, carved wood, teacups, birdcages, etc. let's take a look at some of the architectural heels that you could either purchase today or wait a few years for them to show up in a museum exhibit...
