I say yay, if only because within a few years that will be my wife's and my only option for hanging art in our house, at the rate our bookcasing of every wall is going.
I had an office with lots of red magazine holders and some blue, too. I found a great, simple poster at Ikea and had it framed in a similar blue. Then hung it over the book cases. Looked brilliant.
I say Nay Nay Nay because of the size and scale of the pieces. One large piece could work or a combo but as it is it's overwhelming and makes everything within the bookcase seem diminutive and unimportant.
BTW I've never been accused of not having an opinion!!!

ReplyDeletei vote yay. bring on the art, bring on the books, and pile 'em every freakin' where!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to vote nay because I don't like clutter, and I'd hit it with my foot every time I got a book off the shelf. Practical gal, I am.
ReplyDeleteI think nay as well. I mean, I would inevitably want ONLY books behind the artwork.
