I just saw these in a chic, little boutique this weekend. I think I like them more once I read the story behind them. You must post the story about how he put shoes on tons of little children's feet. Then it seems all good and charitable. And such.
Maybe it's because I lived in Argentina, where eveyone wears alpargatas (that's what they are called) & it is as much a part of their culture as tango & wine! but I love them! Although I must say that I prefer them in black or white only. The fact that he is helping hundreads of kids that walk barefoot everyday and some have never owned a pair of shoes is wonderful!
These shoes look exactly like the slippers my grandfather shuffled around in during the last years of his life when he was living in a nursing home. Therefore, these shoes make me sad.
They had a few limited edition designs that were cool. And it's for a good cause. But I personally follow the mantra of Posh Spice when it comes to shoes - No flats. (Except for running shoes and flip flops, obviously).

ReplyDeletedid those come from the set of "driving miss daisy"? look like some old school "house shoes".
ReplyDeleteHorrible. I'd rather just donate to the cause of putting shoes on little children's feet.
ReplyDeleteLooks like slippers they'd give you in a mental ward. Comfy, but so are loads of pills to make you sleep.
