are you watching design star on hgtv?

i wanted to cry last night it was so bad. i desperately want to go on that show, and episodes like last night make me think i might be too fabulous for it.

did you see when they PAINTED THAT WONDERFUL WOOD TABLE WHITE! i thought i would die. i can't believe they got it for $500, first of all, and then when they ruined it-- i got up and walked towards the TV and sort of stood there, in shock, as she's busting out the roller.

here's a tip to all inspiring tv show decorators: quit painting those awful abstract canvas things for the walls. it wastes time, and energy, and money, and who wants that hot mess on their walls?

    we're watching! the brown town sunroom was terrible too.
    why would anyone spend $500 on a beautiful wood table and then paint it? they could have made a ty pennington particle board wonder for $50 and had the same effect.

    Oh my gosh, I can't believe you just posted this...I literally JUST now watched a commercial for this and DVR'd the season. And in that commercial, one of the decorators was talking about her classic, timeless aesthetic, as she painted a wall hot pink.

    The table! Even though you had prepared me for it, my hear stopped for one full minute when I watched her throw that paint on the table last night. WTF kind of show are they running over there?

    Cynthia Rowley is DYING for someone like you to come on the show, Jamie. Please please please try out. PLEASE.

    I live in Nashville, and the store where they got that table is really cool. It's a huge warehouse, and when you walk in, it's like the heavens have opened up, and the angels are singing! It has a lot of crappy stuff in there, but then you'll go one day and find an amazingly wonderful bargain like that beautiful table. I still can't believe they painted over it. Several of those hoes are asking to be kicked off.

    I literally screamed when they started painted that gorgeous table, and then when I saw the horror they made the dining room mantel, I threw up in my mouth a little bit.

    Seriously. Embarrassing.

    Crying girl bugged me, too. Any early predictions on winner? The judges seem to be pretty impressed with Matt Locke (Vern probably just likes his name), and I think he just might have it in the bag.

    I didn't see the show, but I actually like the artwork in your pictures. The branches are stupid, but the paintings themselves are kind of beautiful, especially against that midnight blue of the walls--it looks like the roofline of the city during a summer thunderstorm.

    Buuuuuuut, everything else going on in that room is an unholy hot mess.
