it's not that i'm not blogging...
i'm just selectively blogging.
today = the weather is gorg.
sconces in the bedroom = i'd like to have them but if lamps on the nightstands have plenty of room, is it justified?
mirrors above the bed = heard it's bad feng shui
white linens with that oh so fancy trim = happiness
cat fur = doesn't go with white linens.
marinate on that for a while.

What if it were white cat fur? Then it wouldn't count, right?
ReplyDeleteI love the bedroom, but I've often had the same thought about bedside sconces... I really like them, but do they look ridiculous paired with large bedside tables?

ReplyDeleteNo, sconces work, and they may even provide better light to read in bed. But more important, they're gorgeous and you can then use bedside table for flowers or collectables or whatever. The bigger problem: drilling holes in the wall to hang them without makign a huge mistake.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, in California it is unwise to hang anything directly over the bed. Unless you really attach it rather permanently, it is not earthquake proof.
ReplyDeleteThe previous owners of my cute little craftsman put sconce holes in my bedroom wall. The problem is that the holes are at the 6' mark on the wall. They're only a foot from the ceiling. WTF? So, I have sconces there and I really can't stand them anymore....until I find the perfect sconce maybe. I wish they were lower. bleh.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you from personal experience that tat kind of bedspread is the polar opposite of comfy. It's very starchy. Which you do not seem to be. That's a good thing.
ReplyDeleteI agree w/Leslie - sconces are great, I took mine down when the bedroom was repainted and I considered not putting them back up but feel lost w/out them - you NEED them! Bedside tables are for books/flowers/candle/water! AND white linens w/a cat DO work - repeat after me, LINT ROLLER.
