Yes, but only under certain circumstances. The lights in that picture look great, and I've been a little obsessed with the lights that Nigella Lawson seems to have up in her kitchen lately. But then I suppose in Charles Saatchi's house everything looks cool and artistic!
ReplyDeleteYes yes yes! I think that there's something so whimsical and lovely about the lights -- but I feel more grown up calling them "twinkle lights" instead of christmas lights.
ReplyDeleteHells yeah for both!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes. Some live in the brackets for the bookshelf over my desk, a space that doesn't get much love (or light).
ReplyDeleteI have to say no - unless they're out hanging underneath the canopy of a gorgeous tree for dining. That would be beautiful.
ReplyDeletein this case, i'm okay with the fairy lights, though i must admit that most indoor, non-holiday uses of them remind me of bad parties in college dorms. that pendant light, though - flawless!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fat YES.
ReplyDeleteWe have them draped somewhat haphazardly up above the window across from our bed, and I must say, it makes the WHOLE room.
Also, I'm really excited for your new project!
absotootley yes. especially white ones. they are so lovely and magical and full of whimsy!
ReplyDeleteand late at night they are totally romantic. *blush*
with love from pittsburgh...
I draped tiny white Xmas lights inside my built-in bookcase next to the fireplace. I painted the back wall of the bookcase a deep moody blue, and the lights bounce off the books. I loved the effect so much that I decided not to take them down after the holidays - the bookcase looks almost ornamental.
