Yes, but only under certain circumstances. The lights in that picture look great, and I've been a little obsessed with the lights that Nigella Lawson seems to have up in her kitchen lately. But then I suppose in Charles Saatchi's house everything looks cool and artistic!

Yes yes yes! I think that there's something so whimsical and lovely about the lights -- but I feel more grown up calling them "twinkle lights" instead of christmas lights.

Oh, yes. Some live in the brackets for the bookshelf over my desk, a space that doesn't get much love (or light).

in this case, i'm okay with the fairy lights, though i must admit that most indoor, non-holiday uses of them remind me of bad parties in college dorms. that pendant light, though - flawless!

We have them draped somewhat haphazardly up above the window across from our bed, and I must say, it makes the WHOLE room.

I draped tiny white Xmas lights inside my built-in bookcase next to the fireplace. I painted the back wall of the bookcase a deep moody blue, and the lights bounce off the books. I loved the effect so much that I decided not to take them down after the holidays - the bookcase looks almost ornamental.
