it took me a second to realize what i loved about this room... it's that the wood is at a minimum. everything is rich and warm but there isn't an overabundance of wood.Which is hard to achieve without a lot of cold metal or cheap (or expensive) plastic. I really like it! Did you say where you got this? I have an inkling who the coffee table is by, but I would like to confirm my suspicion.
I have a round green velvet chair almost exactly like that. I picked it up on craigslist 2 yrs. ago and have tried it in every room but it is a rather large piece and doesn't really work in any of my small rooms. It's a good piece for a loft I think. It currently resides in an upstairs bedroom. My initial appeal to the chair was the character it has and how it modernizes all my trad furniture. The cat really likes it :) Thanks for the inspiration!
On second look, I think the circular chair works well because of all the other linear-ness (ha!) and squares in the room. It sofens all the angles. It's such an interesting room.
