anything you can do i can mediocrely
first of all, absolutely NO offense whatsoever to homegirl, or any other professional artists out there BUT, when i saw this painting on nick's blog i thought, hmm. i could do that. i could TRY to do that.
so that's what i'm going to do.
sally king benedict's paintings are lovely. maybe jamie clark meares' will be too.

HA!!! i thought the exact same thing when i saw those. i fear it's harder than it looks though.
ReplyDeletethose colors are so gorgeous. worth a try.
I think I may have to give it a try, too. I rarely come across art that I really love, but something about this piece does it for me. Let us know how yours turns out!
ReplyDeleteI tried it once and it looked like Mattie the Schnauzer Russell did it with her left paw tied behind her back...
ReplyDeletei love it that you know how to use an apostrophe, esp because your last name ends in S. another reason to heart you :)
ReplyDeleteI tried to do something abstract once...it looked like crap. I'd love to see yours when its done.
ReplyDeleteyou mean no offense, but it's still a backhanded insult. art is so easy if you just take the time to do something your five year old could do?
ReplyDeletehuh? did your five year old write that comment?
ReplyDeleteher work is GORGEOUS! go for it.
ReplyDeleteYou go girl! I've heard some people say a Rothko makes them cry. I swear those same people would cry at the swatches currently painted on my wall, in a double-blinded study.
