more spotting of the general sort at homegoods
i went searching for a white coverlet, and although i struck out with that, i did spot these great finds
i swear, i'll never buy expensive lamps again. both of the top two, less than $40 each.
and they had these huge Moroccan style lanterns - see the red thom flicia style one? it was 3 feet tall!
gorgeous geode bookends - picture doesn't do it justice
and that industrial looking cabinet- $249
a pair of those silver task lamps - they were BIG! - for $30 each
and again, pictures aren't really selling it, but white and red faux croc trays were good looking and the leather trunks were cheesy at all, but actually rather genuine looking.

ReplyDeleteI just got two geode bookends there! I've been looking on ebay for years for an affordable set. The set at Homegoods - $26! LOVE that place.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! Try Belks for the coverlets. I was on the hunt for the exact same thing last week, and after striking out at all the usual suspects (Marshalls and TJ Maxx included), good ole Belks had tons and tons and tons of them on sale.
ReplyDeletewow, all actually pretty great stuff! perhaps someday I'll be able to go shopping again...
ReplyDeleteCan't get over how much I love Homegoods!
ReplyDeleteHG makes me want to pee my pants! I'm with you on the lamps - saw one of those white, porcelain parrot numbers like Horchow runs for $500 - $99 at HG - GET OUT!
ReplyDeleteI've also spied my Z Gallerie foo dogs there - for half what I paid.
Overall, that store is the shiznit.

ReplyDeleteBy the way, that's what I do when I am super excited. OMG I need to go. Like today.
good finds! home goods is a great store! you never what you will find.
ReplyDeleteGah I am wickedly jealous. The nearest Home Goods is in Portland OR (I'm in Seattle). However, no sales tax in Oregon... maybe this is ok afterall?! Roadtrip!
ReplyDeleteOn my list of places to go this weekend for sure.
ReplyDeleteI wish my Homegoods was as on trend as yours. Mine just has a bunch of Tuscan crap for the most part.
ReplyDeletePaloma - don't you live in Houston? (love your blog too) If so, check out the Homegoods at Eldridge and Westheimer. It's worth the drive. I was there yesterday and would say I saw about 80% of what Jamie just posted pictures of. -Allie
ReplyDeleteI LOVE my gorgeous lamp from TJ's. Actually it's two lamps. Liked the base from one and the shade from another. Still: under $80!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds, Jamie!
clearly Home Goods is what is missing in my life. I don't think we have one close.
ReplyDeleteI'm always about the great finds at the discount stores! Why pay more (isn't that someone's logo?).
ReplyDeletehey there... about your search for a white coverlet...not sure if this fits the bill for you, but i just found it for myself on ebay...

THAT'S IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am going to homegoods tomorrow. i have been looking for some hollywood regency cutout lamps for a while now.
ReplyDeleteYay for Homegoods! I was at TJ Maxx today and saw that silver lamp. Loved it! And I actually have 2 lamps very similar to the white ones that I got there a while back! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteSometimes you have to dig a bit, but it's well worth it. The lamp section never ceases to amaze me. Same with the bedding. And dishes...
ReplyDeleteI'm so with you on HomeGoods! They have such chic, inexpensive pieces. I found a very Kelly Wearstler, 3 foot tall greyhound statue there for $30.
ReplyDeleteis this from the brier creek store? i was in there sunday and didnt see half this stuff but then again i was cranky and too distracted by other patrons' general grossness.
ReplyDeleteWhich Home Goods were you at? I live in Greensboro but those lamps might be worth the trip, were there 2 of the white?
ReplyDeleteLove these lamps! I need to hit up my HomeGoods again this weekend to see if there is anything fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI saw a white coverlet at target a couple weeks ago... it was a pretty good deal IMO.
ReplyDeleteLove the lamps!
I'm sure you took notes for all of us - how much were the Moroccan lanterns by chance?
