personal fave
i know i'm swamping you guys with store pictures, but just one more.
i'm having major anxieties about letting things go. when a customer comes in and decides to buy a piece, i have to start taking really deep breaths.
the green lamps, the botanicals, the buffet.
sigh.
but the very definition of vignette is a brief incident or scene, so i'll suffice to enjoy it all in its briefness.
(don't get me wrong, i WILL part with all it - i just might interview you about your intentions before it leaves me =)

I've already downloaded that photo for my inspiration files -- but I just downloaded it again. I don't want you to part with it! It's just perfection. { And those accent lines on the console are so fabulous!! }
ReplyDeleteOoops on the comment above... Forgot to sign off. ;-)
ReplyDeletewell that is just lovely. I would definitely adopt that whole family of delightful items!
ReplyDeleteWe love seeing pictures of your store! Keep swamping us!
ReplyDeleteyes please bombard!!!! In fact every time I come here, I think "why is she being so stingy with the store photos?" :)
ReplyDeleteHear, hear! Store photos wanted!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL vignette!!!
haha!! now you are sounding like the antique dealer in my area. If he likes you and you answer his questions to his liking you could be allowed to purchase one of his beauties. If not, you will go away disappointed as many, many have.
ReplyDeleteYour pieces are beautiful and I can't blame you; I would want to keep them altogether as well.

a hundred years ago (okay-it was late 1980/early90's)a friend and I were milliners creating "romantic" hats with vintage flowers, ribbons, etc...(which back then--without easy access to the internet- was very difficult to find)When my partner would say that the hat was too beautiful and she couldn't part with it--we would put a price that was STUPID on the hat-guess what? They always sold :) it made parting a little easier.
ReplyDeleteI love those green lamps-- how big are they?
I emailed you and never heard back..
ReplyDeleteJamie, that buffet is TO DIE FOR! Is it new or vintage?
ReplyDeleteSomeone may have said this already.........but did you see where Nick Olsen called you his idol??
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the shop photos! Would it be crass of me to ask the prices of the items in that beautiful vignette? The buffet is to die for and the botanicals.....
ReplyDeletemmm, no please. i mean, please don't stop putting up store picture. no, double negative. please continue putting up store pictures! i've absolutely loved seeing them...wish i could visit the store (it would be a long road trip) because it's so lovely.
ReplyDeletehaha, whenever I leave my purse on the console table in our front hall my mom accuses me of "ruining her vignette"
ReplyDeleteif only i were in the area. I would come and adopt this whole display.
Stunning!!!!
ReplyDeletegreen lamps are about 25" tall and are $165 each.
ReplyDeletetamstyles - i didn't see an email! was it about the lamps? can you send it again - jamie @ furbishstudio.com
and the buffet is vintage!
ReplyDeleteWe need MORE store pics! It's amazing!
ReplyDeleteAnd too funny about your adoption process for the furniture- I always wondered if it was hard for artists to let go of special pieces...
Just saw this over on CasaSugar. This sideboard & the styling is just gorgeous. Love your blog! xo.
ReplyDeletei second Julia - keep swamping us with pics! parting with pieces that pull your vignettes together gets easier, trust me! you'll get more excited about making money =)
ReplyDeleteI love the images of your store--the more the merrier! I can understand you not wanting this vignette broken--it is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI think I've commented here before, but I'm not sure. So, if not...Hi! I'm Karrie and I love your blog. I found my way to it via a bookcase of the day featured on Apt. Therapy a few months ago and have been regularly checking in ever since. Congrats on your store opening!
Congrats on your store! And I know how you feel. I've been dealing antique and vintage furniture and accessories for over 12 years and fondly remember some of the very first items I bought for my business. Some things are just so pretty/unique that they stay with you. You just hope the new owner gives them a good (i.e. worthy) home! :-)
ReplyDeleteMore store pics, please. We won't complain!
absolutely AMAZING....and im sure you will create something even more perfect!!!!!
ReplyDelete:)
will you share the price on that killer buffet? TDF.
ReplyDeletewe can completely relate :) there is always a bit of a pause when our favorites get sold...i'm sure our customers think we're nuts. it always seems to happen the very moment a vignette becomes 'just right'. good luck the parting... they are all beautiful!
