Arranging books by color is pretty, but not practical. Personally, I prefer a form follows function approach. I really care what something looks like, but if one must sacrifice function to get a particular look, I consider that a bad thing. Most people sort books by author or subject matter, but only decorators sort them by color, or, even worse, put solid colored covers on them, so one cannot see the titles at all.
