dining banquettes

i tell you what, there's not much as cozy, custom and full of potential as a built-in dining banquette. i learned from my friends amber and nick that when it doubt, build it out. then fill it with pillows, pair it with a functional table, and trick it out with some statement lighting above. all that's missing is eggs benedict, a pot of coffee brewing, the sunday new york times, a vase of fresh tulips and a dog or two. imagine that.

    Totally agree! We have the perfect spot for such a banquette when we remodel our kitchen...in 10 years. ;)

    do you have any idea what the paint color might have been in the third from top banquette pic? We are looking to repaint our dining room (no banquette, alas) and leaning toward grays.... that one caught my eye....???

    Excellent advice on making sure that a banquette has statement lighting! Every single example you posted has a great light fixture that perfectly complements the space's style. I also like the one that includes dogs, haha!
