drivel.
happy thursday young people. i'm eating an egg sandwich in the sun while 1 good schnauzer and 1 bad schnauzer wrangle below me for a newly acquired bone. newly acquired by me, at the pet store, out of my wallet -- yet they feel entitled to it, despite not having any wallets between the two of them. one newly acquires the bone, the other barks, and then i give it to the barker. quality dog parenting over here.
today a new CFO starts at furbish. this is concerning, yet promising. accountability, structure and budgets make me shudder. this is a key to growth but like any change, it means new rules and facing some truths that were easy enough to avoid up to this point. i've been essentially shuffling bones around and now, another person will take the reins of the furbish finance department and hopefully, the pile of bones will grow.
growing a business by bootstrapping, organically, at a steady pace sometimes is excruciatingly frustrating. learning from your own mistakes is valuable, but it's hard not to lament the time you're losing due to inexperience. my talent is instinct. i'm a creative. and although i have some sensibilities about business, furbish has turned into a tornado and i feel like i'm in a trailer park without a hallway to stand in.
so wish me luck today. i might as well put on a suit. i'll probably just go with an inappropriate sundress. speaking of, i bought the most sensible cotton shift at forever21 last weekend for an upcoming trip. we're going overseas, and the goal is to detract attention. so up goes the hair, and down go the hems. i threw the dress on yesterday for work, only to find the side seams are split, purposely up to the armpits, revealing a short tube dress underneath. the effect is one part roman toga, one part someone from the hills (whitney port, not an ozark) and certainly some, what my mother would call, a streetwalker. my therapist said it was sexy, and that's just too much. she's 65. time to reconsider conservative.
enjoy your day.
