how to mix patterns for a luxe + laid-back look
i've been getting more questions about how to mix patterns than ever, so i'm going to try to shoot a few combos each month for some eye-candy, and inspiration.
i'm loving our new althea pillows, so they were the anchor for this inviting bedroom scheme we styled in the studio. i think it proves that granny can easily go global with the right mix.
crane & canopy is my go-to source for simple and sophisticated (and extra affordable!) bedding, which is a must-have base for layering on the patterns. this coral duvet and coordinating shams pair perfectly with the pop of pink in the pillow fabric.
with a few traditional elements in place, it's time to add on texture with a vintage textile. i like the versatility of a simple linen headboard - you can add any textile to give it a one-of-a-kind look that can be easily switched out when your vibe varies.
a stripe is always a chic addition to the mix, and keeps patterns from competing. the floral anchor fabric makes it easy to expand the color scheme. just pull colors from it as you add, like the light blue in the striped quilt.
suzanis have a great bedside manner. you can purchase a basic round wooden table for a nightstand, and keep the look fresh by changing in different fabrics as you're feeling them.
