hanging art around the house

By 5/31/2017

i recently had the most magnificent mail day - four textiles i'd sent off to framebridge arrived, and opening each package was a thrill. seeing my favorite travel mementos memorialized is nothing short of fabulous. i framed a bright neon guatemalan huipil i picked up in antigua, a happy handwoven peruvian scene from our recent trip to lima, a long embroidered belt from the market in chichicastenango and a gorgeous piece of embroidered banjara fabric from india.

i went with white frames for all of the pieces -- the irvine for the larger pieces, and the irvine slim for the smaller two.  framebridge's float mounting option is perfect for textiles - it raises your art ⅜” in front of the matboard behind it, offering the work a sense of depth and drama while showcasing deckled edges, textured papers and artist signatures. the art is then separated from the acrylic glazing using spacers.

i'm so stoked about how everything turned out.  i love having one-of-a-kind artwork in the house.  it's extra special - and every piece has a distinct story behind it.  before i discovered framebridge, my textile collection was confined to stacks in bookcases or cabinets, but now i can showcase my favorite pieces with custom framing that's affordable and accessible! if you have something special you want you want to star on your wall, use the code FURBISH15 for 15% off your first order with framebridge.

  1. These are all truly stunning. I'm a "textiles person" so these really catch my eye. My favorite art is my travel/souvenir art as well. Your new home is really beautiful and I adore the bar cart vignette and that framed textile above it!!

  2. Where is the green and white lamp from? I'd like one in blue!
