top ten with Renee Bouchon

By 7/29/2018
tomorrow we're welcoming back best-selling atlanta artist renee bouchon for an exclusive pop-up on the site.  there are 35 original collages in the collection she's done for us, and they are such lovely little treasures - each one.  mixed media, with layers of paint, paper and charcoal, the works are invitations to lean in and discover.  they look so chic framed - i prefer them floating, so you can showcase the pretty deckled edge of the paper.

they look spectacular grouped together - our last pop-up sold out in nearly 20 minutes because i think everyone had just that idea.  customers were buying groups of 4 and 6 to hang together.  here are a few of my faves, and a little bit more about renee!  you can shop the sale by clicking here tomorrow at 12pm, est.

top 10 with blakely little

By 6/25/2018
i don't think our pop-up with charleston artist blakely little this tuesday could be more perfectly timed.  pairing pretty pastel colors with rays of neon brights - blakely's work exudes a summer vacay-every-day vibe, and we are certainly settled right into the dog days of it here in the south.  furbish is releasing 25 original collages from blakely that speak to the warm-weather wanderer in all of us tomorrow at 12pm.  i have a piece from her last pop-up framed and hanging in my office - right beside my computer - it's like a dreamy-window to a summery seaside, just out of touch but always there in my memory.  her work speaks to a little summertime nostalgia - sun glittering on the waves, sand in your sandwich, sunscreen in your eyes and your family lined up in folding chairs, positioned just so - where the tide will catch your toes and the sunshine rays will hit all the right spots.  that makes me happy.

a bit more about blakely, a link to her IG account, and be sure to check out her newest collection, live tomorrow!

bring on the branding

By 7/25/2017
we've enlisted our friends at good south, here in raleigh,  to help us with a bit of a facelift for furbish. they are our local aficionados for all things branding, as well as graphic design, logo design, letterpress, art, interior design, and styling. they where many hats, all perfectly styled, mind you, and we're excited to have them on the team.

our hot pink teepee is tried and true - however, nearly 10 years in it's feeling a little weathered.  it's time for an update, as we shape the brand to focus more on one-of-a-kind items from our travels, including textiles, rugs, and other hard to find, unique treasures for the home.  we're no longer buying from big brands in the typical retail/wholesale model - we're sourcing items on our own, from around the world, and bringing them together in an edit that you've come to expect from furbish: vibrant colors, bold patterns, items that tell a story and make a home interesting, authentic and well-lived in.

right now, elizabeth and chris at good south are working with us to firstly, update the furbish logo, which will help define the brand moving forward, and secondly to retool the website to reflect our ever-evolving vibe.  after several meetings in their amazing out-building turned office, we're all on the same page moving the company forward with a fresh feel that considers who we've been and where we're headed (passports in hand!).

things to save on

By 5/29/2017
it's memorial day and we've got a major sale going on at furbish - 20% off the entire site with code HEY SUMMER -- check out a few of my favorite things in editor's picks, like this pretty throw by caroline hurley (i've got one on the bed with just a flat sheet right now - perfect for warm nights), these gorgeous huge euro shams by john robshaw, this original painting by leslie weaver and a set of 4 graphic bowls by jenny andrews anderson.  such a great time to grab a few easy updates for your home at 20% off!

lucy auge floral studies

By 4/04/2017

during a trip to london last year, we discovered bath artist lucy auge in an issue of house & garden and instantly fell in love with her simple yet sultry floral studies.

from observations of store bought carnations painted on old paper discovered in her grandmother's attic to spring-inspired sets of blooming foxgloves, we think lucy's art, hung in sets as we're selling it, is a simple way to make an extra-chic statement.

the pop-up shop opens today at 11am, and features over 20 sets of botanical studies.

kayce hughes

By 2/07/2017
this morning, we're going live with a fantastic new pop-up shop featuring nashville artist kayce hughes.  kayce's work is a favorite of decorators mark sikes and sarah bartholomew - and while she sells a piece on instagram daily, and they are always snatched up so quickly!  today, there will be 50 chances -- fun pieces in bright colors, all featuring her signature abstract geometrics and bold strokes of vivid hues. check it at 11am EST and snag one for yourself!

branging in the new

our new arrivals are looking awfully pretty these days - head over and check out the prettiest new pillows, a handful of vintage runners and some chic new lighting we added this week!

huge warehouse sale this weekend

By 1/16/2017
after a record-breaking holiday season online, we've made the tough decision to narrow our focus to e-commerce only.  i've thought long and hard about the kind of company i want to have, the lifestyle i want to lead, and what my every day ideally looks like, and our online business is perfectly poised to continue to grow at comfortable pace that fits into my vision of the future.

we're going to close the showroom for now on dawson street to shift soley to e-commerce. that being said, we'll still be shipping and receiving out of the warehouse (raleigh peeps, you can still pick up your orders!), and we'll be able to host a party or two (priorities!), but this week will be the last one we're open to the public regular hours.

the good news for local folks is we're having our biggest winter flea yet - this saturday we'll have hundreds of items priced to go, plus furniture floor samples, one-of-a-kind textiles, pillows, rugs, artwork and store fixtures.

and it will be a personal yard sale of sorts.  i'm going to let go of a lot of the treasures from my house. i've been living without most of them for 2 years now, so it seems like as good a time as any to make a fresh start and pass along some of my favorite finds to new homes.  bittersweet, sure, but necessarily nonetheless for me to rebuild.  there will always be more pretty things.  as long as i can count on that, i can stay in the moment, and very grateful for this opportunity to begin again.

yaddayadda bleh.  anyway.  our huge sale is this saturday.  we open to the public at 11, and if you're familiar with furbish sales, things can get a little crazy when folks start to tailgate in the parking lot hours before we open (bojangles is just up the street =).  if you want to beat the line, and have exclusive access for an hour before the crowd, you can purchase a preview ticket here.  you'll be able to shop first and snag some goodness before the insanity starts!

face it - here's the perfect gift just in time for xmas
