just discovered
australian designer tamsin johnson and really enjoying her look - a great mix of global textiles, pops of color and very deliberate moments. it feels kelly wearstler-esque at times to me minus some unnecessary drama (meaning cash). she has a sparse hand, which feels good to me right now. the rooms feel achievable, but appropriately elevated to be good design. they're personalized but not suffocating with personality. i'm into it.

Love that blue kitchen.
ReplyDeleteLove that children's room with the cloud photos! Probably minimal cost and big impact!
ReplyDeletePretty. Kelly Wearstler - who I love(d) - has gone waaay over the op for me. Cool for a hotel lobby, but how do you live inside of a 10 million dollar acid trip? God forbid your 5 year old brings home an ugly-perfect painting you want to hang on the fridge or gasp - a family photo.
ReplyDeleteAs time goes on, i feel my taste becoming more European- those mofos know how to mix. My Ligne Roset 70s loveseat can live with an old gilt mirror and velvet fringe club chairs and an african bone inlay side table... The mix is everythng.
Side note: there's a Netflix doc on Dries Van Noten. They show his house. It's a clinic on the doing the mix right. Stunning.
So good. She was not on my radar. Thank you. I love how clean and deliberate, great word, it is. Every piece makes a statement so you didn’t miss all the stuff that isn’t there.
ReplyDeleteWow, incredible! Where to begin?! You've infused so many different textures and styles so masterfully. I love it!
